I use a range of media to create objects that evoke bodily experience. Often, I use my own embodied identity as a starting point, especially my transition form girlhood to adolescence. My goal is to find a visual language to negotiate that sensuality: to locate it at the intersection of haptic experience, linguistic knowledge and material culture. In other words, I want my work to suggest to the viewer a corporeality determined by bloody noses and scabbed knees, braids, ruffles, and the Ice Capades.
